Recently many owners of ‘so-called’ Cane Corso have been in touch complaining why their dogs act unlike what the Corso is known for. Unfortunately the truth is rather simple, poor breeding in the USA and Europe accounts for a large percentage of the weakening of this Italian breeds heritage and temperament. If the breeders want to breed large Corso then maybe they should look at becoming Neapolitan Mastiff breeders. The Corso was historically bred to be the slimmer, extremely agile and limitless stamina of the two closely related root breeds. I have seen far too many Corso which look like machines on steroids, yet they do not possess the basic abilities and courage of a root Corso. Ownership of this breed should be done with research and understanding in mind. A trip to Italy to see some very famous Sicillian breeders would open ones eyes to what the breed is capable of and how it should look and I highly recommend this before purchasing a Corso.

Whether we admit it to ourselves or not, the truth is already staring us hard in our faces. The concepts on weight loss are indeed becoming more complex. Of all these, though, one concept that really seems to stand out is the concept on GI or the Glycemic Index.

What is this Glycemic Index and how does it affect weight loss and for that matter, weight gain?

The Glycemix Index is the rate by which the foods that we consume can be broken down into glucose. Actually, the process of digestion and metabolism is that all the foods that we consume will be broken down into glucose, but through consuming the foods that have low Glycemix Index, the broken down foods can have less effect on the rise of an individual’s blood sugar level. Once we really look deep into the issue of weight loss and dieting, we will see that foods are seen as part and parcel of the things that comprise our overall health. And if anything, this is not an exaggeration. In lieu of the effect and impact of over consumption of foods, we should thus start exercising portion control. Lack of discipline in terms of portion control is a big problem as it is more than anything else; another thing that is equally important is the food selection that we limit ourselves to.

Obviously, Americans men and women love eating foods that are laden with fats, sugar, and carbohydrates. We all know that these types of foods are exactly those that can hamper the health of the individual and as such, making a lifestyle change is necessary in order to manage weight and to become healthy.

Staying healthy means that we have to live a lifestyle that is devoid of vices; common vices include smoking and drinking, but for some people eating has also become a vice. Overeating may lead to serious health complications and as such, those people who are beginning to have the irresistible urge to eat should think twice before going into an unhealthy diet plan.

There must be hundreds of small weight loss tips that can be provided to anyone who is currently on a diet or trying to loss weight. I remember very clearly how my grandmother would provide all of us kids with various ways in which we could cut back on the calories. I would like to relate a few of Granny’s tips here.

Granny never was much of a person to turn down cookies. In fact she would always encourage us children to eat a cookie in the evening. Most people think that when you are on a diet you should cut out all the high calorie items such as cookies but that is far from the truth.

Granny would tell us how the mere act of putting our favorite foods off limits would eventually lead us to what she referred to as “rebound eating”. She would tell us that in place of cutting out her home made cookies completely we should merely eat a single one of her fresh baked cookies instead of a hand full. She would always lecture us that if we wished to enjoy our favorite foods we could do so and still lose weight but we merely had to do so in moderation. That was granny for you.

I never could understand why my mother never brought any of granny’s cookies home with her. Instead we would have to go to grannies and eat them there. Finally I was informed that one of grannies favorite weight loss tips was not to eat the food at home. Never take home cookies or candy. We were always told that it was better to enjoy our treats at grannies house. Whenever we wanted a special treat mother would pack us all in the family car and tote us off to visit granny. I later found out that this tip from granny was the reason we make an adventure out of going out to eat. By making our visit into an adventure we never have to worry about the temptations relating to having the treats in the home. In the end it was a fun way to visit with granny as well as a unique way to try and lose weight.

Mini-meals were one of granny’s favorite weight loss tips and I finally found out why they were important to her. Granny would serve us several mini meals each day when we would visit her. Finally she revealed the reasoning behind these types of weight loss tips. She would always point her finger to her stomach and remark that if we eat fewer calories than we burn then we will lose any extra weight. Granny was a wise women for she knew that it was a real challenge to go hungry all the time therefore it was her philosophy that we should eat 4 or 5 mini-meals each day.

In support of grannies actions recent studies have revealed that those people that eat four or five meals per day are much better able to adequately control their appetite resulting in better control over their weight. Let’s chalk another one up for granny’s wisdom.

In my eyes the best weight loss tip that granny gave to us was that we should eat protein at each of our meals. Once again granny would preach to us that protein would build strong bones and muscles in our little bodies and allow us to grow up strong and healthy.

Okay let’s provide granny with another blue ribbon. She was actually very correct in her assumptions. Protein has been found to build up muscle mass and it tends to encourage fat burning. So all that yogurt, nuts, cheese, and beans that granny feed us worked very much to our advantage.

In conclusion all I can say is that if your granny tells you something is good for you then by golly she must be right after all mine was!

A few words at times may sound awkward in the given situation where we speak of training the brain to lose weight. For example, if someone says to you that you need a conglomerate of psychological and diet plans to accomplish that, it may sound a little weird to you. But, the truth behind the line of ‘fat’ is that psychological aspects have importance (equal if not less or more to) than a proper diet plan! Let us have a look together at the psychological aspects separately. I wonder, I may require my own advice tomorrow or maybe in the near future!

The Psychological aspect:

Do not get angry when you go through this piece of the article as you go deeper and deeper between the words. No one can hide the truth for long! Do not confuse hunger with desire to eat. What is that? Well, did you ever think what makes you walk up to the delicious hamburger just after a belly full of meal? It is temptation that makes you do that. It is not hunger! You just want to eat it, not because you are hungry but because you desire to do so! It is just that you feel your stomach to be empty (which it actually is not) and grab that hamburger!

Poor fellow, this desire disguised as hunger will cause problems for you! Learn to differentiate between hunger and desire. Make out, or rather identify, the feeling you have in your stomach just before a meal and just after it. Purposefully make yourself hungry and feel the hunger!

Whenever you are hungry and have a craving, stop worrying about when you are going to get some food. Don’t get preoccupied with the thought of food. There is no point over estimating the strength and the duration of your hunger. If you over estimate, you are more likely to get rid of hunger by grabbing some food. Hunger and cravings are not emergencies and there is no point getting alarmed of the situation. Learn to tolerate them. If someone would have died immediately of hunger then do you have any explanation for hunger strikes and fasting for medical and religious reasons? The best thing to do is to focus your attention on something else.

Do not eat to the point of getting overfull. Eat until the point where you are reasonably full and do not find it difficult to have a brisk walk after having your meal. This actually helps you to feel good and also to keep yourself thin! Try changing your mindset to get a feeling of goodness when you are just reasonably full.

In case you are following a diet chart, it may happen that you find some excuse or the other to eat and keep eating and keep promising that you will start once again and maintain the diet chart! This surely going to sabotage your plans to get thin. Think rationally and recognize the importance of a diet plan. During emotional upsets, do not fall back on food. Instead, you can you can use meditation and relaxation techniques which are more fruitful.

It is your health. Do whatever is best for you. Eating, eating and only eating is not the best!

How do you experience super fast weight loss?

But I’ve never been one to care much what people might thing. It’s NOT about to change.

There is a TRUTH that many people have never heard. The truth is that you can lose avalanches of weight without breaking a sweat.

In fact, one thing, above anything else, trumps exercise and everything else when it comes to producing super fat weight loss.

And if you STOP focusing on all the smoke n’ mirrors garbage out there and place your attention squarely on this one potent, pound-shredding item… then you are virtually guaranteed results that’ll get your heart racing.

The one thing is DIET.

Not as in “starving yourself” or “skipping meals”.

Diet as in what you eat on a regular, day in and day out basis.

Unfortunately, the word diet has gotten a bad wrap.

Grazing is proven to speed up your metabolism and force your body to rely more heavily on existing fat stores. This means you’ll burn more fat.

There are many other little diet secrets you can apply. Just simple, easy things that pack a whole lot of punch.

But the sole purpose of this article is to narrow your focus.

The biggest problem people have when trying to lose weight is not understanding where to begin.

And for anyone who’s had a hard time “putting the pieces together” in the past… it can be very refreshing to know that you can lose a lot of weight simple by focusing on diet.

You don’t need to sweat your brains out. And you certainly don’t need to learn to exercise like a professional trainer.
