I’m comparing the USA made Gerber 06 Auto with the newer Chinese made 06 Assisted Opening “FAST” model. The FAST is an OK knife – but it is a far cry from its American Auto counterpart. I would like to see Gerber make an Assisted Opening version of the USA 06 Auto – using the same quality components and materials. I do like the FAST knife – it will be a decent EDC beater. The G10 handles are very comfortable (I actually prefer them to the USA model Aluminum scales, but forgot to mention it in the video). This knife is a bit slimmer in profile and has a slightly thinner blade. The enclosed backstrap is nice – you don’t have to worry about car keys or coins dinging up your blade through the open backstrap like the USA version. The lock is weak on the Chinese model, the lock switch is garbage as well. The pivot is small on the Chinese version. I’d like to see a drop point version of this knife as well, for a more “utility” function. I will note that the more I use the FAST, the more put off I am by the fact that the “safety” is backwards / reversed as compared to the Auto. As someone who carries a knife while working in law enforcement, the muscle memory issues is important to me – carrying a knife off duty which functions the opposite of my duty knife is annoying. The 06 Auto is a great knife. I would like to see a plain edge version – all current versions are part serrated combos. Fighting excess weight is one of the oldest “women’s sports”. This kind of sport is especially popular after holidays. And here we are now – holidays passed and summer getting closer.

If you  see that your summer wardrobe sits tight on you don’t hurry to change to a  bigger size of clothes. The situation is quite correctible. I would like to offer you the diet that helps you to get rid of 5kg (11lb) of excess weight during a week. The motivation is strong – the size of your clothes must be not bigger than for the previous summer! Is not it nice to tell your friends and acquaintances that after all the holidays and the winter season you did not add any excess weight?! And this decision is the first step to succeed in weight loss. It will demand to  some effort from you of course but it is  worthwhile.  The pointer of your scales will move lower and after a week the desired result will be achieved.

This undoubtedly will cheer you up and you’ll want to strengthen the results achieved and maybe even go further.

Dieting will help your stomach to get accustomed to the smaller amount of food you need every day. It will decrease the quantity of consumed calories.  So after this diet it is easy to maintain balanced meals.

Yes, to lose of 5-7kg (11-15lb) excess weight in one week is quite enough. The diet is very simple. Your food during these days is fruit and vegetables. But you must not overeat them – 1.5kg (3lb) of them a day is enough.

What you can eat for a day?

-apples

-boiled vegetables

-mashed vegetables

-oranges and mandarins

-kiwi

-fruit all sorts (not dressed)

-fruit puree (without sugar)

The main rule is not to eat more than 1.5kg (3lb) of foodstuff in a day. What can you drink? It is tea (green is preferable), coffee (without sugar) and mineral water.

To improve your appearance choose fruits that suit your skin. For dry skin it is ripe red fruits;  for fat skin it is better to have green sour-sweet fruits. For normal skin,  both are suitable.

But it is not enough to eat little! Have a strong shower every morning to push the process.  After a shower your blood will flow more freely freely.  Also, a shower makes you cheerful and draws you away from foods and snacking. Thus your breakfast will be smaller than usual. Maybe a cup of coffee will be enough. But don’t forget to add some non fat milk to it. That is a proven method I use myself.

A hot bath with few drops of aromatic oil draws your thoughts away from appetizing foodstuff in the evening. It can be rosemary, eucalyptus, lemon, fir or other stuff that you like. You will switch your perception to a fragrance that draws you away from food.

Don’t lie in the bath without any movement. If your bath has hydro massage it is perfect. If not,  try to do it yourself. Even a simple massage can bring about a miracle.

Maybe after 3-4 days you will be tired of fresh vegetables and fruit. Then begin to cook them! Don’t be afraid to experiment. You may cook your day’s meals at once and divide it to portions. Remember the rule – not more than 1.5kg (3lb) of food a day. Vary assortment of vegetables. It may be:

-cauliflowers

-broccoli

-carrot

-haricot

-sweet pepper

It can be everything you like, all that suits you best.

There is another way to limit your portion of meal – decrease the salt in your meal or don’t salt it completely. The taste of meal will be a bit strange. You will eat not much in this case. But that is all you need!

7 days after this diet you will be pleasantly surprised. Compare your weight with those you had before. You will be glad to have such results.

We all know we should not follow the trendy fad diets or take those diet pills but we also know those techniques can result in quick weight loss. And that is after all, what we are looking for.

You may decide that you need to lose at least ten pounds before a certain event or before you see a particular person again. In times like that we feel pressured to do whatever it takes to reach our goal in a hurry. We often put our health issues on hold in order to work on the quick weight loss.

The weight loss market, as a niche market, is huge and growing ever bigger. You would assume that, with the amount of advice freely abounding, people would be able to follow instructions and lose their excess weight. In the majority of cases, however, this simply does not happen.

But, why? What makes it so difficult to lose weight? After all, you would assume that, if a person wants to lose weight that much, then they would be able to set their minds to it, follow the rules and watch the scales creep down along with the clothes sizes. When you consider how much carrying around excess weight affects a person, apart from physically, reducing a person’s self-esteem so dramatically, you would assume that losing weight would be – well, not so much a doddle, but fairly straightforward. So, why isn’t it?

There really is no single answer. It could be an unrealistic weight loss plan, or it could be unrealistic expectations. I suspect fewer people suffer from lack of willpower than actually claim to. So what is the problem? Is losing weight too difficult? Or is it because most plans are too slow? How do we put an effective weight loss plan into action? Basically, a person who wants to lose weight needs to know what to eat and how to eat it, how to increase their activity level and how to change their behavior.

One of the most important parts of any weight loss plan is attitude. Attitude over-rides everything else. You can have an excellent weight loss plan and exercise regime but, without the correct cognitive attitude, success will be as far away as ever.

However, assuming you have the correct mindset and everything else is hunky-dory, where do you start? Are you going to follow a red day or a green day and then discuss sins with everybody you meet, or join one of the other diet classes where you get a pep-talk once a week and, for the rest of the week you struggle? From my own experience, the most difficult part of a weight loss plan is starting it and getting used to what you are allowed to eat and what is best avoided.

You also need to pick a weight loss plan that is realistic. There is no point in going out with the family for the day and blowing your diet because there is nothing suitable for you to eat – or, come to that, going out to a restaurant and having to pick your way through a rather sad and boring salad because there is nothing else suitable on the menu. You are going to be living with your weight loss plan every single day for quite a few months: you need to be able to carry on with your everyday life while you are following your weight loss plan.

People that are overweight focus on trying to lose weight. This is often the wrong way to look at it. When you lose weight you lose a combination of fat and muscle. Now muscle is not what you should be losing and you should be doing everything to hang onto it. You did not get overweight by having too much muscle, you became overweight because your body is carrying too much fat, and it is the fat you should be concentrating on losing.

If you have been trying to lose weight and you step on the scales after a month to find you have lost 10 pounds, you might feel pretty good about yourself. The problem is that at least half of the weight you have lost could be muscle. Muscle is living active tissue and it needs calories to stay on your body. Fat however is just dead weight that sits there as stored energy. When you go on a low calorie diet, your body will think it is starving. It will then begin to take the calories from the protein stored in your muscles to compensate for the calories it is not getting through food. This will make your muscles smaller and weaker. Small and weak muscles burn far fewer calories than bigger and stronger muscle.

In the long term this will affect your abilities to lose fat. If you look at long distance runners, you will see that they are very thin and have little muscle tone. This is because all they do is cardio for long periods of time. Lets face it not many people will want the body of a long distance runner. If you look at sprinters you will see that they have very different physiques. They look lean, muscular, and strong. This is because they need powerful muscles to generate the power to run short distances at great speed. They use training routines which not only stop them from losing muscle, but increase it. Most of us would rather have the body of a sprinter than a long distance runner.

You must include a weight training routine in your weight loss program. This will not only help you lose weight and keep muscle, it will also leave you in a situation where you won’t have to cut back on large amounts of calories from your diet. All you will have to do is to replace the calories you get from bad food with calories from good food. This will stop you and your body from feeling miserable because you are starving yourself.

Many diets call for large reductions in calories. Now while you may lose some weight in the short term, the muscle loss will ensure that you don’t lose much more weight in the long term. The reason low calorie diets exist is because they cater for peoples demands for a quick fix for weight loss. The truth is that there is no such thing as a quick fix when it comes to losing weight. If there was, why aren’t all the quick fixes out there working? Why are more people gaining weight rather than losing it? Why does the weight loss industry continually bring out new diets or products, while there are already so many out there claiming miraculous results?

The answer is simple; they don’t work for the vast majority of the people that want to lose weight. If you really want to lose weight, you don’t need fad diets and pills. All you need is a sensible approach, with the knowledge that if you keep doing what you have set out to do over a period of time, then the results will come. Also the results you get will be far longer lasting and not just a flash in the pan which disappear after a month or two.

Look at you diet and figure out what you need to drop from it. Decide what good foods you are going to add to your diet. Eat sensibly by never missing breakfast. Eat smaller meals 4 or 5 times a day instead of 2 or 3 large meals. Your body is happier with smaller meals because they are easier to digest and less can be stored as fat. A big meal is harder to digest and once your body has used what it needs, what it doesn’t gat rid of through waste, it will store as fat. Sensible eating is not some secret you have to pay for. You already know what is bad in your diet and what is good.

As well as cardio you must include a weight training routine in your exercise program. The more muscle you have the more calories you will burn, it’s that simple. Do you want a lean, muscular, and healthy body or do you want a thin, soft, and flabby looking body? Training for muscle will give you the first; not training for muscle will give you the second. Remember lose fat not weight.
