Question by ♥♥♥♥: Whats the difference between normal paint thinner and nail polish thinner?
Can I use normal paint thinner to thin my polish instead of purchasing nail polish thinner? Or do people specifically make nail polish thinner because the chemicals arent as harsh or something?

Answer by Sport
There are many kinds of solvents and thinners for paints, lacquers and enamels.
For best results it is wise to use the right one that is specially designed for the particular job.

The ingredients used to formulate nail polish thinners include Ethyl Acetate, Butyl Acetate and Toluene.

You could probably substitute acetone thinners for nail thinner.
Acetone is a colorless and clear liquid that has many uses in products such as nail polish remover, automotive lacquer and inks. Studies have shown that acetone has a relatively low toxicity level

Possibly the same with toluene based thinners.
Toluene is found naturally in crude oil and the tolu tree, toluene is also present in items such as fingernail polish, rubber and adhesives.

Turpentine can irritate the eyes and skin, damage the nervous and respiratory systems, and cause kidney failure.

Mineral Sprits can cause brain damage

Methylene Chloride is one of the oldest and most common solvents.
It is toxic and a suspected carcinogen

Benzene can cause cancer

My job is working with electrostatic paint (paint made for metal). I have a lot of paint splatters on my lenses and rubbing alcohol doesn’t get rid of it. Is it safe to use paint thinner on transition lenses? I’m scared that if i use it the transition may mess up.

now mickey is at skull island, the missions here is to destroy the machine that turns human pirates into evil machines and get rid of the anchors that is keeping smee’s ship sunk. mickey also picks up a new ability, when he picks up a tv, he can throw it at enemies that can distract enemies by playing an old mickey cartoon. notice how in order to destroy the machine, you need to fill up the things shown in the vid with thinner, thinner will destroy it, but who knows what will happen if you put paint in int 0_o’. another thing is that when you turn an enemy into a friend, he salutes you and helps you fights enemies. i think they said you can turn the machinified pirates into friends, but who knows.

I imagine that some coating was removed with the paint thinner. I haven’t tried any sort of floor wax or things of that nature yet, I’m just waiting on suggestions.

My roommate poured paint thinner into her clogged drain. The drain is still clogged, and as such the paint thinner hasn’t gone away and is stinking up the house. Is there any way to neutralize the smell until we get someone to clear the clog?
