Do you ever feel tired for no logical reason?

You may feel constantly tired because you are carrying a lot of unfinished business.

Unfinished business, whats that you ask?

Unfinished business is simply all of the energy that you have put into many different goals in the past and even with all your good intentions you never actually saw the goal through to its completion.

Does this sound familiar?

Emotion is just energy in motion.

When you start to perform anything (put energy in motion) and then dont complete it, the energy actually remains trapped in the past, which means it is not 100% available in the NOW, or present moment.

The key to allowing your emotions to flow freely on a day to day basis is to establish a system of Elimination, Expression and Excess.

In this article I will be addressing the need to establish a system of Elimination.

By establishing a system of Elimination you are effectively providing an outlet to remove unnecessary clutter in your life. This can be mental, emotional, spiritual or physical clutter and often comes in the form of unfinished business. That is, tasks you have started but not finished which can often lead to toxicity, in your environment, in your living space, in your relationships, in your direction and of course, in your physical body.

Be aware that if you start something and do not finish it you are trapping energy in the past. If you do not have 100% of your energy available in the present you will not be as productive as you can possibly be. Therefore it is highly important to create a system to eliminate any unfinished business or toxins in your life.

Failure to establish a system of Elimination can lead to the symptoms of emotional dis ease in your life. Such symptoms include; toxicity, anxiety, stress, sadness, melancholy and depression.

The first week of the Activate Your Weight Loss Program is designated purely as a detoxification (or elimination) week. This system of Elimination is designed to rid your mind, body and emotions of any addictions, toxins or incomplete cycles of energy that you may have stored.

How to Eliminate Emotional Dis EASE

Use the following guidelines to provide you with an excellent system to assist you to eliminate any emotional baggage you may still be storing in your past.

1. Close off all unfinished business or incomplete cycles of action (work, finances, family, partner, friends, health and well being etc)

2. Remove Toxic thoughts, feelings, beliefs and behaviours from your mind simply by focusing on what you want, not on what you dont want.

3. De-Clutter and simplify your life, your house, car, garage, wardrobe, office etc. Eliminate any old energy that no longer serves you.

4. Make your life leaner and more purposeful.

5. Give every situation or coincidence its due attention, every day regardless of how small it may seem, always address every situation with the respect it deserves and at the time it arises.

6. If feeling frustrated, impatient or annoyed then ask what needs to be addressed at present. Ask your self; What is it that is causing my progression to be halted? Then ask what do I need to do in order to get my life flowing smoothly again?

Remove the Dam and the Water will Flow

By eliminating the un finished business in your life you will allow your emotions to become more positive which will make you feel a lot fresher and provide you with the necessary energy to manifest your life of EASE.

Be sure to join me next issue when I address the second key to emotional weight loss, establishing a system of Expression.

The weight loss industry is a multi billion pound industry and people make a lot of money from it with new crazies coming and going. As always, at some time the latest exercise fad eventually dies off!

So, what’s the next craze to hit the industry?

Thirty minutes of attempted escapology with a 30 second dunk in a tank of water every 2 minutes, just to raise the heart rate that little bit more?

Seriously, where are we going wrong?

Well firstly, there are a lot of desperate people who will do anything to lose those unwanted pounds of stubborn bodyfat but unfortunately want to lose it all way too quickly and with no extra effort. Well when I say anything, what I really mean is anything that’s involves taking a magic pill.

Well I’m sorry but there’s no such thing and even if there was, wouldn’t you rather lose weight and feel healthy at the same time?

Let’s face it, what exactly drew you to this article, it wouldn’t be the title fat loss would it?

Now honestly ask yourself, were you expecting to read something unfound and so amazing that the pounds of bodyfat will be dropping off as you read this?

If so, then we’ve got problems. If you thought that maybe there’s a better approach to losing weight than what you’re doing right now then your right!

So what’s the first step to take when you finally realize that you can’t lose weight by eating chips (something I read in a men’s mag). Well before you start dialing the number for your nearest weight watchers or slimming world club (my personal opinion is don’t bother), you need to get your mind ready for action.

Remember everything you do comes from the mind so if your mind isn’t ready, you’re on the familiar road to failure.

Take this scenario for instance, how many of you have decided to go on the latest fad diet the night before, woke up the next morning and already decided to leave it till the next day?

What’s worse, you then feel that’s it’s then expectable to eating crisps, chocolate or whatever you crave by telling yourself that it’s alright because your diet starts tomorrow!!!

If you were mind set on your diet in the first place, you wouldn’t have chocolate or crisps or whatever you crave for you own in your home!

This is also very true for the latest gym exercise fad or January/February rush. “Right, that’s it….I’m joining a gym and getting fit” or “there’s this great new body combat with real weapons and the instructor said it’s good because the fear of getting injured raises the metabolism.”

Ok, so maybe a bit far fetched, but that persons been going to the gym for 3 months and hasn’t lost a single pound!

All I am trying to reinforce here in my ‘grumpy old men style’ is to prepare your mind before you rush off to try the latest fad diet or exercise and stop looking for the miracle cure.

Crunch Time

So what do you need to do?

Firstly, you need to determine what drives you to want to lose weight or get fitter. Then you need to change the reasons why you want to lose weight into why you must lose weight.

So straight away, we change from wanting to lose weight to having to lose weight and already become very powerful and fixed on what we are going to achieve.

In fact one thing that we do at Kevin Raison Personal Training Studios in the West Midlands is find out exactly what they want before they start training with us. We start this in the consultation room where we get our clients to be as precise as they can when it comes to achieving their goals.

This is recorded to make sure that our clients stick to it and are reminded each and every session why they are with us. We also get them to write down what they are going to achieve in that certain time frame and recommend them onto programs such as www.themagichundred.com. A goal setting program that helps you achieve amazing results.

Note: ‘what they are going to achieve not want to achieve.’

We then ask our clients to read out there goals aloud every morning and evening before they go to bed. So what’s the reason for this?

Have you ever woken one morning and had a craving for a certain food or drink. Then at mid morning it strikes again, then again in the afternoon and finally in the evening when you can’t resist and you give into temptation.

Now imagine if you were to wake up and the first thing you do is read out aloud your goal on your goal card or read you magic hundred list, then mid morning you do the same and so on for everyday.

Can you see where I’m coming from now?

You actually become what you think about!

If you think about what you are going to achieve this much you actually turn your thoughts into positive habits and positive results.

At first this may all seem a bit strange; I must admit it seemed a little strange to me when I first started doing it. Then things just started falling into place, you still have to make things happen of course, but if you’re in a positive frame of mind it will happen.

So how do we go about starting?

Simple:

•Choose your goal and be as specific as you can

•Don’t set to easy a goal, make sure the goal scares you a little

•Think about your goal as often as you can

•Actually imagine yourself being the person you want to be in that time frame

I promise you, if you stick to the above rules you’ll be closer than you’ve ever been to your goals and you haven’t even started your programme yet!

24 Months to a New Body It is safe to say that you will never see a health magazine with this title, and still most transformations take 6, 12 or 24 months (or more!) to achieve. But that doesn’t sell. Media knows that anything else than exceptional, easy results in no more than four weeks will be rejected, and then they’d be out of business. It’s not their fault, not really; it’s just supply and demand. If we demanded better quality articles regarding fitness training and eating, they would give it to us, but we don’t. This charade means that most people begin their journey with false information, assuming that they’ll lose insane amounts in a very short time, and when they don’t, they get discouraged and may not try again for another year. This doesn’t mean that you can’t achieve great results in four weeks, you absolutely can! But if you have outrageous expectations brought on by the latest fad, you are setting yourself up for failure (and that’s often for the long-term too). So, realise it will take time, BUT you CAN get there! And as long as you stay on track, those results will keep on coming, making you feel better and better about yourself every day.

Change is Hard (and your body fights it) Anyone claiming change to be easy is dead wrong. It is not. Believing all the hype and assuming it will be and you’re in for a nasty surprise. Look, it is light-years away from being impossible, but if changing behaviours, habits and lifestyles were easy, I mean really easy, just about everyone would. And physiologically, your body will actually fight it. It loves to stay the same and any change will be resisted until your persist enough. That is why start-stop attempts rarely generate short or long-term results. The inconsistencies lead your body to doubt your intentions and it just sits where it’s comfortable. I can illustrate this easily by comparing the 30 second stretches you do after your workouts with having your arm in a sling for six weeks. Six weeks down the track with a little bit of stretching here and there will do little for your flexibility, but keep that arm in the same position for six weeks straight and your body will shorten up your muscles, as it assumes that is what you want. So, either you do or you don’t, anything in between and you might as well do nothing.

No Attempt is Better than a Weak Decision Research tells us that most weight loss attempts (especially the extreme ones) will result in gaining back the lost weight PLUS an additional 15% over the long-term. Not only that, if the weight loss was done in a poor fashion, there is likely to be severe muscle loss involved as well. And when you gain that weight back, it will be little if any muscle. This is terrible as muscle mass increases the energy our body requires at rest and at activities and therefore helps us to maintain our weight. Without it, keeping the weight off is even harder. So, stay away from weak “maybe sorta’ kinda’” attempts and make a firm decision to change. If you don’t, you are probably better off not doing anything at all. I would pick standing still over two steps forward, three steps back. But trumping all of that is making your mind up and do it already! You will be so happy you did.

When it comes to losing weight the goal can seem insurmountable. There are so many different factors to consider that you can sometimes freeze up and not know where to start. All top often this leads to failure before you even get started. To overcome this self sabotage you have to understand the one thing you must do if you want to lose weight. That one thing is to make a commitment. Seriously make a commitment.

Making a commitment to lose weight does not just mean to say casually that you are going to try and lose some weight. No saying you are going to try at something is giving yourself an out. If you say you will try then of course if you fail then it is ok because you said you were just going to try. You did not say you were going to do the thing for sure. Just that you would try is all you stated. Making a commitment means saying you ARE going to do this thing. Make a commitment to losing weight.

One way to strengthen this commitment is to be held accountable. This means you are going to announce your intentions to someone. A magical thing happens when you state your intentions publically. All of the sudden the goal becomes more serious. Now your reputation is on the line. You stated you were going to do this thing and now if you do not someone is going to know! This alone can strengthen your resolve to see it through no matter how challenging it might become.

Making a solid commitment does not mean that there will be no setbacks. As a matter of fact one piece to making this commitment is to forgive yourself of setbacks. Having the commitment means that you can overcome these temporary challenges. It does not mean that they do not happen. When setbacks occur do not let them discourage you. Use your level of resolve to put the setbacks behind you as quickly as possible and move forward with your goal of losing weight.

Also keep in mind that having a strong commitment to losing weight means that you are going to work each day towards the goal. It does not mean that you are going to reach the goal faster than anyone else. You are not trying to set a new speed record. On the contrary a little work each day goes much farther than trying to get everything done at once. Stay committed and work constantly towards your goal and before you know it you will find staying committed becoming easier than ever before. The ease of staying on course is the mark of true commitment.

Starting a challenging goal like losing weight can sometimes feel like trying to scale a huge mountain. Making a solid commitment can be the one key you need to climb that mountain. Be sure to make a real commitment, be held accountable, forgive the setbacks, and work steadily and you might be surprised at the success you have.

Fresh vegetables are common in a healthy diet.

Losing weight can be an emotional roller coaster. Some days you lose weight and some days you don’t, some days you want to eat a box of cookies and other days you are effortlessly following your plan with no obstacles in the way. Looking at the glass half full when it comes to weight loss isn’t always easy and can make losing weight even more difficult.

There are daily obstacles that you will come in contact with that are apart of being alive, and living life. Even when we logically know what we need to do to lose weight, we are faced with events that make managing our weight and where calorie deficits don’t always equal weight loss.

The stress that this causes can be a huge downside to losing weight, especially when we tend to eat more and store more fat when stress is involved. Your body reacts to stress by slowing your metabolism and increasing our cravings for high-fat and sugary foods that make sticking to your healthy eating program even more difficult.

The first thing you can do to manage your stress is to exercise, and secondly you have to change your perspective on weight loss. If your personal weight loss expectations are extremely high you are more likely to fail from stress alone. First, you must believe that you will lose weight. Once you accept that you can accomplish your goals you will believe you can accomplish them and once you believe you will start behaving in ways that make weight loss possible.

If you think like someone who looses weight and reaches goals, you will become that person too. Secondly, it is helpful to not put so much pressure on yourself with the day-to-day ups and downs on the scale. I know how tempting it is, to want to step on the scale every morning to see a weight loss. Weight loss is motivation, but what happens if you work really hard for a few days and you don’t see weight loss, or even worse, the scale goes up?

Will you stop trying to lose weight and call yourself a failure? Will you think weight loss is impossible and all your hard work is for nothing? The truth is, you will not always lose weight even if you are doing the right things. Gaining muscle, hormones, and body fluctuations all play a part in your weight on a daily and weekly basis. Keep this in mind and remind yourself that you will see weight loss only if you stick with your eating and exercise program.

Once you lower your expectations you will discover that being too hard on yourself will only keep you overweight. There may be days where you slip-up and eat too much, or you may even fall into a weight loss plateau, the most important lesson is to keep going, to keep moving forward. If you think that people who have been successful with weight loss got that way because they never slipped up or always had consistent weight losses, you are wrong. Life happens to them too, the only difference is, is that they know how to move forward.
